It’s the final countdown…
Duh duh duhhh duhhh, duh-du-dududuuuuhhhh…
Ok so we have completed the last week of training, today I have just 5 sleeps left until the big day!
Last week I stepped training up even more and I feel awesome. I now understand that moment where Rocky runs up the steps and shouts and jumps around! I get it. He’s worked his ass off and now he is fitter than ever, feeling truly ready!
I AM THERE!

Last week was good eating, (mostly) hard training and lots of thinking time.
In fact yesterday I was sparring with myself (shadow boxing) in a ring, and between each round I was just sitting down, picturing the day, learning to focus.
It’s all in the mind now as I prepare for the big day.
Some highlights from last weeks training include work with Aaron from Pro Fitness gym who put me through some pad work. Check him out if you are interested in learning to box. He knows his stuff.
Yesterday I put a two minute timer on, and moved around the ring, for every ten punches I threw I made myself do a burpee and run to a corner, good fitness and also learning to move around the ring using the proper footwork. For rest my timer was set to 45 seconds, forcing my body to recover quicker on match day hopefully.
The week ahead brings matching and finding out my opponent on Tuesday, followed by my last training session Thursday morning, before a relaxing couple of days until Saturday at 3pm where I head for the final medicals and to get into the venue and prepare.
Once again I thank everyone for their support, fundraising, training help, training buddying, and for all those who have rallied round.
I am ready.
