A Bit about me:
I have always been into fitness through sport, namely rugby playing for local clubs. However being a prop I was always over weight. I fell in love with fitness when I started to adopt a weight loss approach, after finishing rugby. This new approach moved my training from weight lifting and rugby specific training to cycling, mud runs, half marathons, some martial arts and boxing, as well as various circuit and boot camp style sessions.
Having been an instructor most of my life in various ways, from being a RN (SCC) Petty Officer teaching seamanship, navigation, rowing and other specialisations, to being a first aid instructor running a successful first aid company, training others has always been something I love doing!
I was a part time constable with Dyfed Powys police for 10 years and become an Inspector within the Special Constabulary leading the Carmarthenshire division.
Throughout my life I have had some involvement with martial arts, as a youngster I did Aikido and Kung fu, with my adult life moving to some police style combat styles such as S.P.E.A.R. and Ninjutsu.
I undertook training with the award winning Future Fit training school to complete an advanced diploma in personal training, whilst also completing nutritional courses to assist with weight loss.
Initially this was taken to enable me to reach my own goals but soon my love for exercise and demand from friends has driven me to specialise in training others to achieve their own goals.
I also work freelance with the Forces Fitness outdoor boot camp team to run training sessions throughout South Wales.
I have worked in I.T. all my life and this has lead me to develop on line systems to really help my clients access their training plans and get all the help they need at the click of a mouse, saving time and making things easier where possible.
I now regularly aim to challenge myself with half marathons, mud runs and some cycling events and I have a strong interest in sports specific training. I specialise in weight loss programs and with my nutrition expertise I can offer clients good eating plans that are not fad diets, and therefore are reasonable and easy to stick to.
